Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 20 March 2026
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Monopigi platform and API ("Service"), operated by Monopigi ("we", "us", "our"), registered in the Netherlands.
1. Service Description
Monopigi provides a unified API for accessing publicly available Greek government data. The Service aggregates, normalizes, and delivers data from official government open data portals. The underlying data is public government information; our Service provides the infrastructure, normalization, and API access layer.
2. User Accounts
To use the Service, you must create an account and provide accurate, complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and API keys. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.
You may not share API keys between organizations or use them in a way that circumvents usage limits. Each API key is tied to a single organization account.
3. API Usage and Fair Use
Your use of the API is subject to the rate limits and quotas associated with your subscription plan. You agree not to:
- Exceed your plan's daily request quota
- Use the API for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or redistribute the API infrastructure
- Use automated tools to circumvent rate limiting or access controls
- Resell API access without our prior written consent
We reserve the right to throttle or suspend accounts that exhibit abusive usage patterns, even within stated limits.
4. Payment Terms
Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, as selected). All fees are in EUR and non-refundable except as required by law.
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Downgrading may reduce your daily quota immediately or at the start of the next period, depending on the plan.
5. Intellectual Property
The data accessible through our API originates from Greek government open data portals and is publicly available. We do not claim ownership over this data. Our Service, including the API design, documentation, software, and infrastructure, is our intellectual property and is protected by applicable laws.
You may use the data retrieved through our API in accordance with the applicable open data licenses of the original sources.
6. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the data delivered through the API, as it depends on upstream government data sources.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Monopigi shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly.
7. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms or engage in activity that may harm the Service or other users. Upon termination, your right to access the API ceases immediately. We may delete your account data after a reasonable retention period.
8. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
